In junction with AK Party Istanbul Public Relations program, Istanbul MP Egemen Bagis met with the representatives of Besiktas district. In a series of meetings each held separately with Women's groups, Youth groups, City and District Officials and NGOs, Bagis had an opportunity to hear the problems of the people first hand from the people. He also had the opportunity to interact with the grassroots of his party.
During the meetings the representatives found opportunities to relay their problems to Egemen Bagis. Demands were generally about the health, education and security problems of the district. The questions were also about Turkey's energy policies and education system. A question was asked regarding the status of Turkey's EU candidacy, Mr. Bagis noted that the negotiations were continuing, but the most important thing was to bring Turkey to EU standard of living.
For many of the problems relayed, Mr. Bagis stated that he will do his best to tackle those issues, however, also asked for documentation for each problem in order to bring these to the attention of relevant authorities.
As an Istanbul-lover Bagis added, both Prime Minister and he were highly engaged in ways to find solutions to meet the demands of this greatest city in the world. Bagis' meetings with AK Party Organizations and NGOs will continue till end of July.
