"Traditional Siirt Evening" held by Siirt Solidarity Foundation was held on June 15th, 2008 at Ankara Bilkent Hotel. Prime Minister Erdogan attended the evening with his wife Emine Erdogan. Noting that Siirt has a special role in his private and political life, Erdogan said, "We will implement a project in Siirt which will change the fortune of the whole South-Eastern region, and Siirt will be more different than today in 2012." Prime Minister Erdogan also made some evaluations about the developments in Turkey with the AK Party government.
AK Party Vice Chairman Egemen Bagis, also, thanked the Siirt Solidarity Foundation for hosting such event and expressed his proudness to be from Siirt. Minister of National Education, Huseyin Celik, State Minister Mehmet Simsek, AK Party Vice Chairman and Istanbul Deputy Egemen Bagis, Siirt Deputies Yilmaz Helvacioglu and Afif Demirkiran together with other invitees attended the evening.
